Why don't you want our money? - The potential of committed crowdfunding

For many musicians, making a living from their own work is difficult. You can no longer rely on long-established sources of income such as record sales, streaming doesn't pay the rent and the pandemic has shown that touring is by no means a given. It's time to find new ways to secure your own work in the long term and build strong communities. Committed crowdfunding via platforms such as Patreon, Fanklub, Steady and others can do this - but how? Tine Theurich and Melanie Gollin explain the best way for beginners to get started, the advantages and disadvantages of committed crowdfunding and, above all, how to encourage others.

This session is part of NEW TALENT. NEW TALENT takes place in cooperation with popNRW, VUT West and the c/o pop Convention.
