Berlin-based Afro-jazz group Jembaa Groove was founded by producer and bassist Yannick Nolting and Ghanaian percussion legend Eric Owusu in 2020. Inspired by the jazzy and soulful sounds of Berlin's up-and-coming underground music and classical sounds from Ghana, the 7-piece band delivers a contemporary interpretation of highlife, jazz and afrobeats. They have played some of the best stages in Europe, including a stunning UK tour following an invitation to a BBC6 Music Live session at Maida Vale Studios with Cerys Matthews. A new album with artists such as Gyedu-Blay Ambolley and K.O.G is due for release in spring 2024.
