Filly grew up in a rural area, more precisely in a hotel run by their grandparents. Wanting to help their grandma, they became more and more involved. Between waiting tables and making beds they would disappear into the hotel’s basement, a safe space away from all the craziness and write down all kinds of stories. Tales they’d hear from guests and coworkers but also their own experiences. Because of a lucky coincidence they met the music producers “filous” and “Johannes Römer”. The songs they made together at “Villa Lala” make up Filliy’s debut EP “Watching Strangers Smile”.
