Jörg Heidemann is Managing Director of the Association of Independent Music Entrepreneurs (VUT e.V.), which represents the interests of independent entrepreneurs in the German music industry. Before graduating with a degree in psychology from the University of Trier, he worked in record shops to finance his studies. He was Head of Export at EFA Medien GmbH and Head of Export at Universal Music Germany and subsequently co-owner and managing director of the distribution company MDM-Mutualism:distribution & more. Following MDM's insolvency, he joined the VUT as a freelance project manager in 2010 and took over as Managing Director in 2014, as well as sitting on the advisory board of the German Jazz Award and the Musicboard Berlin and being a member of the BVMI's Charts and Marketing Committee. He is also a member of the Impala Management Board and WINDirector. Jörg Heidemann has always been a passionate music listener and collector.
