With “Bottle of Wisdom: Tape 1,” the 23-year-old German-Brazilian not only shows how much musical talent she has, but also that soul and sound harmonize well. She positions herself somewhere between soul, indie rock, and poetic, queer pop, not asking whether she fits in, but simply taking up space. And she does so with a musical precision that doesn't make it seem like she's just starting out. Rather, it feels like she's in the middle of a new beginning.
When you experience VANDALISBIN live at independent festivals (including Transit Filmfest, FEM+Festival) and support shows (e.g., Fuffifuffzich in Germany and Switzerland), it's clear: here is someone who doesn't just play on stage, but burns. With a voice that inevitably reminds you of Rio Reiser, Chappell Roan, and Faber. Nothing is cooled down here. Here, they love, suffer, and howl into the microphone until even the last row has goosebumps.
