With Nadine Breaty, we have an extraordinary young author in our program who has actually made strength out of her own supposed weakness. The 24-year-old from Rostock was born with Piebaldism, a genetic mutation that leads to white streaks and patches of skin. She was also diagnosed with borderline. Despite or perhaps because of her uniqueness, she is one of Germany's most successful TikTok creators and is also internationally known - more than 10 million people follow her social media channels.

She now also uses her reach outside of social media for valuable topics that accompany her own life: Bullying, mental health and her borderline personality disorder. Thanks to her own experience in overcoming these challenges, Nadine now manages to encourage others in similar situations and to be a role model for Gen Z.

She speaks openly and honestly about her "weaknesses" and deficits and thus gives young, often insecure people courage. Her book of encouragement was born out of this affair of the heart. It is a biography, a guidebook, a book to take part in, a worry eater and a daily companion for young readers. Due to the seriousness and depth of the topics addressed in the book, we recommend it for a 16+ target group.

Asking good questions is her job, YouTube & Instagram are her office. Pop cultural and social controversial topics are up for negotiation - content that moves young people. The freelance (music) journalist and presenter has already landed in front of the camera and microphone for news formats, big album interviews and reports - always where there is something to tell.

Anyone who has recently asked themselves how things actually stand in terms of gender equality in the music industry may have come across her in the vastness of the internet. Music fans know her all-female playlist, or her pop-cultural analyses for Diffus Magazine, the Reeperbahn Festival or 1Live Plan B.

The reading is part of the funding project "c/o pop 2023 musichubgermany" and is supported by the Initiative Musik gemeinnützige Projektgesellschaft GmbH with project funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
