With her debut EP "shades" and the focus track "save myself", ilayda manages to address the search for herself and capture growing up for a moment both musically and lyrically. With the EP and live performances at the FluxFM Bergfest or the Reeperbahnfestival, she ventures her first steps in the music scene and immediately proves her courage with honest lyrics and unexpected melodies.

On "shades" ilayda gives herself the space to get to know herself better and to collect and process her emotions. The multi-faceted sound of the EP quickly becomes a symbol of an entire generation that can be someone else every day and is constantly reinventing itself.

"when I'm feeling lost an lonely and I can't save myself".

In the midst of the numbing rush of the big city, ilayda tries to find her own way. Confronted alone for the first time with the crushing circumstances of adulthood, everything suddenly feels twice as heavy and terrifying. The first real heartbreak threatens to never end and each realisation is followed by new questions and challenges.

A feeling that ilayda captures impressively in her most emotional song to date, "save myself". With lyrics that resemble the emotive songwriting of Holly Humberstone and ilayda's haunting voice reminiscent of Jorja Smith or Noah Cyrus, she speaks out what we probably all need to tell ourselves more often:

"there is no one that can save me, I've got to save myself".

Because in the end, all that remains is the difficult but somehow relieving realisation that saving oneself is probably always the best and probably the only option.

Ilayda's concert is part of the project "Wunderkinder - German Music Talent 2023", in cooperation with the Reeperbahn Festival and supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
